FAQs
Stuff We're Often Asked
Why are supermarket spices so expensive?
It’s a question we asked ourselves too — and why we built My Spices UK. When you buy directly from the source, in proper sizes, you save money and waste less. Simple.
Supermarkets have to individually package their herbs and spices into tiny containers, which takes both time and man power to do.
Why are your spices so much cheaper than supermarkets?
We go direct to trusted manufacturers and skip the fancy packaging and middlemen, keeping the herbs and spices in the airtight pots that restaurants use. That means we can offer culinary sized packs (200g to 550g) often for less than you'd pay for 30g at the shops.
Are your herbs and spices the same quality as supermarket brands?
Yes... and often better! We source from the same suppliers and manufacturers used by restaurants and food businesses, so you're getting high-grade herbs and spices without the high-street price tag.
Is it cheaper to buy spices in bulk?
Absolutely. Buying in bulk is not only cheaper per gram — it also means fewer trips to the shop, less packaging waste, and better value all round. That’s what we’re all about.
Can I buy small quantities?
We specialise in bulk, but our smallest packs are around 200g - which is still excellent value and lasts ages in the cupboard when stored well. Why not use our pots to refill your smaller jars?
Do you sell gluten free herbs and spices?
Our spices and herbs are naturally gluten free unless stated otherwise, but we don’t operate in a certified gluten-free environment. Feel free to ask about any specific product.
Where do you deliver?
We currently deliver to all UK addresses, with tracked Royal Mail shipping. Delivery is a flat £3.50.
Are your spices suitable for catering or food businesses?
Definitely. We use the same suppliers as many catering companies, and our larger pack sizes are perfect for food prep businesses, street food traders, pubs and takeaways, and, of course, serious home cooks!
Can I suggest a spice or blend for you to stock?
We’d love that! Just email us at hello@myspices.uk — we’re a small team and always happy to hear new ideas!
